-Secukinumab is more efficacious than ustekinumab for chronic plaque-type psoriasis in a head-to-head phase III trial
-Ixekizumab, brodalumab and secukinumab are the new generations biologics. The PASI improve-ment is so big (90-100) that it is more useful to see that the number of patients needed to be treated (NNT) is close to 1
-Apremilast is the first new small molecule for psoriasis, it is taken orally and achieves PASI75 within 16 weeks in a third of patients.
-Olive oil can worsen atopic dermatitis by decreased stratum corneum integrity and increased TEWL
-UVB narrowband is more effective for vitiligo than PUVA
-Clinical marker for dynamics of vitiligo: RE-pigmentation has roundish edges, DE-pigmentation has triangular edges
-Focused microwave treatment of axillary sweat glands can effectively treat hyperhidrosis, effects is almost completely stable for at least 2 years
-High expression of CD8 positive cells in the invasive part of melanoma metastatic tumor can be used as predictive biomarker for response to anti PD1 treatment 9-Brentuximab (anti-CD30) antibody works well in mycosis fungoindes and Sezary syndrome. The re-liability of the response correlates with the maximal expression of CD30.
-Aprepitant (substance P antagonist) can be offered as a treatment option in patients with CTCL, that suffer from severe pruritus
-Epidermal blistering can be prevented in a dose-dependent manner by clinically approved EGFR-inhibitors Erlotinib and lapatinib.
-Vemurafenib at a dose of 960bid is efficacious in both multisystemic and refractory Erdheim-Ches-ter disease and Langerhans Cell histiocytosis harboring the BRAFV600E mutation
-Screening for hormonal abnormalities is indicated in mid-childhood acne (1-7y) rather than in preadolescent acne (7-12y)
-Paraneoplastic autoimmune multiorgan syndrome (though often put under the same diagnosis of paraneoplastic pemphigus) can be distinguished into a spectrum of 5 clinical variants: pemphigus-like (the most predominantly antibody-mediated form), pemphigoid-like, erythema multiforme-like, GVHD-like, planar lichen-like (form with the most predominant cell-mediated cytotoxicity)
-Topical betablocker (timolol) and oral statins (simvastatin) show benefits on wound healing in recalcitrant wounds
-Ivermectin 1% cream is safe and effective for papulopustular rosacea
-Topical retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene) may be used as single therapy or in combination products and in regimens of care for all types and severities of acne in children and adolescents of all ages
-Oral antibiotics under age of 88 years: erythromycin, azithromycin, trimethoprim/ sulfamethoxazole
-Recommended monitoring during acne oral therapy: Photosensitivity, pill esophagitis (more common with doxycycline), rare drug hypersensitivity, SJS, lupus-like syndromes with minocycline, pseudotumor cerebri
-The rare photoprovoked hidroa vacciniforme is associated with EBV in its regular, less pronounced presentation, while the clinically pro-nounced presentation counts among lymphoma.
-Isotretinoin may have deleterious effects on the muscles, as CK enzymes are elevated in up to 41% of patients on isotretinoin
